Sean Dampte’s Second Listening Party Is The Talk Of London
Somebody is not hiding his intentions on this mission and that person is Sean Dampte. Set to paint a canvass of his lifestyle and music art all over the global face of Afro-fusion, he recently released his official debut album, LAGOS FRIDAY LONDON MONDAY (#LFLM) following a goody bagful of mixtapes and EPs.
Afro-Pop star sensation, Oluyole Oluwaseun, better acclaimed as Sean Dampte, has chosen to tell it all in plain terms more like saying “welcome to the party, it’s my life we’re celebrating.” His recent album Lagos Friday, London Monday (#LFLM) is a literal representation of the singer’s life experiences as he shuttled between Lagos Nigeria and London in the pursuit of making music.
The album was introduced to an intimate dinner audience of renowned media executives in Nigeria before Sean Dampte made for London as the title of the album says. While events revolving around the release of the album were yet to make headlines in Nigeria, reports from London about the listening party have become the hobnob subject of every funky gathering.
The star-studded event was co-hosted by Manny Bells of theupriseshow and Kemz of gistwithkemz on @talknvibe as all tracks on the album were played with questions from the hosts regarding the story behind each track and at the end of the whole album, questions were taken from the guests present.
It’s no tall tale that the album has been marked as a huge success in the boroughs of South East London and North London, and it’s also being hailed in across the London Metropolis as a whole.
Many of the UK Afrobeats entertainment giants were in attendance such as Smade, Adesope Olajide, popularly known as Shopsydoo, Tola Onigbanjo (WiseTola), and Homebased, Don Crucifixto.
Sean Dampte’s intentions are clear and intend to connect with the culture more than he has ever done and spread the essence of easy music beyond his coverage. “Ariwo ko ni music”.
Truly, Sean Dampte’s music is cementing the bridge between UK Afrobeats and the traditional Nigerian sound! Definitely, Lagos Friday London Monday is that lifestyle we all crave.
